Q. What outcomes can we expect and how is RSS Co. measuring success?

A. While we are harnessing the great creative energy of our artists and volunteers, we are focused on results. We are looking to improve grades, truancy, students' perceptions of adults and their school experience, and volunteers' perceptions of schools. With a little flair and a whole lot of love, we believe we can make a difference in what matters most.

Q. What makes RSS Co. unique?

A. The diversity, quality, and implementation of our volunteers. RSS Co. has volunteers that are lawyers, fund raisers, professors, but also rock musicians, hip-hop artists, and recording studio students. We bring a different flair to volunteering that engages students and refreshes a school setting. We also send our volunteers into schools to fit what teachers need during the school day. This ensures genuine collaboration and partnership, and makes the best use of our volunteers’ time.

Q. How much money are you trying to raise?

A. Rock Star Supply Co. would like to expand in-school tutoring to all high schools in St. Paul and to all urban high schools served by the Minnesota Alliance with Youth Promise Fellows program. A grant of $6,000 will make it possible for RSS Co. to serve an additional high school by placing 100+ in-school volunteers who work 1-on-1 with approximately 20 students for 4+ hours every week.

Q. What will we get in return for our donation?

A. We would like to be in regular contact with you about how your grant is making a difference. Donors are invited to visit our sites and to special Rock Star events. And each grant recieves a complete report of how dollars were used and what measurable results were reached.
